OUR PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS
QUALITY RESTAURANTS
The Quarry Restaurant (and Cellar Door).
The only restaurant in the region located
amongst the Vines - on the Cowra Estate
Vineyard, just walking distance from the
Vineyard Motel. We eat there frequently.
There is a lovely courtyard for the warmer
weather and a log fire in the cooler months.
The Food and ambiance are excellent and the
desserts are to die for.
Ideal for an intimate dinner for two for a
special celebration with friends and family.
No matter what the season or the reason, for
great coffee, light lunch or superb dinner, with
a menu focussing on local produce, The Quarry
produces a memorable visit.
Open: Thurs-Sunday for Lunch from 12 noon;
Dinner Fri-Sat from 6.30 p.m.
Cellar Door open Tue-Sun, 10am-4pm
Tommy's
Tommy's Bistro at The Imperial is a misnomer in
my opinion. It has an excellent chef and a
quality menu. And Tommy himself is a real
character - most entertaining.
The hotel has been tastefully renovated and has
a comfortable Lounge area where you can enjoy a
relaxing drink or two before wandering into the
dining room for dinner (and there are no
poker machines to disturb your evening)
Tommy's is open for lunch 7 days a week from 12
noon; and dinner Tues-Sat from 6.00 p.m..
They do a fabulous brunch on Sundays from 10.00
am. Everyone welcome.
For Dinner bookings of 12 or more, Tommy will
open on Sunday and Monday nights - so
bring a group of friends and book out all 6
rooms at our Vineyard Motel, Cowra, and have a
great time.
The food here is great and another place I l
enjoy sharing with friends.
ASIAN RESTAURANTS
The Apsara
Cafe - THAI - and Australian
Another deceptively good Cafe/Restaurant.
Exceptionally clean and food is fresh.
Apart from normal takeaway foods - hamburgers,
fish'n'chips, etc, - It also does great THAI
food. You can eat in or take-away.
BYO if you eat in.
This is where we buy our hot take-away food or
Thai of an evening when I don't feel like
cooking..
The Hong
Kong - CHINESE
Jasmin and Ben run a very busy and very popular
restaurant. It is rarely quiet. The
food is consistently good and the premises is
licenced.
Nothing is precooked and they have recently
expanded their menu to include a "Noodle Bar"
selection. Dine in or take-away.
It is on the Sydney side of town opposite KFC
(Kentucky Fried Chicken).
Open Every Day - Lunch : 12-2.30;
Dinner: Sun-Thur 5.00pm - 9.30pm;
Fri-Sat 5.00 p.m. - 10.30 p.m.
COFFEE SHOPS / PLACES
FOR LUNCH
The Rose
Garden Coffee House
You can find them just over the bridge near the
Visitor Information Centre. I frequently
pop down there for a hamburger and a caramel
milkshake lunch to bring back to the motel.
Great food, great service and very popular.
Pop across to the Cowra Visitor Information
Centre while waiting for your order and check
out the Hologram - it only goes for 9 minutes
and tells the story of the Cowra Breakout during
WW2. Have a chat with the helpful and
friendly VIC Staff so you don't miss out on
anything.
The Cafe
at The Japanese Gardens
Lovely surroundings. Food is good and they
make my hot chocolate - HOT - not luke warm.
I thoroughly enjoyed my Banana, Bacon and Cheese
melt the other day and their desserts are very
good also. They also have more substantial
meals if you are feeling hungry after walking
around our lovely Cowra Japanese Gardens.
Remember to do the audio tour when visiting the
gardens - you will miss so much if you don't
As there are too many to list here in detail,
Visit the Cowra Visitor Information for a full
list of places to eat in Cowra
